The only reason I finished this was because it was a novella.
The characters were flat and poorly written. The dialog sounded like what a 40 year old who loves marvel movies thought was cool.
The whole second half relies on the most threadbare plot contrivance that the author actually lampshades how stupid the choice is.
At least I can thank this novella for forever turning me off of the rest of Nat Cassidy's work.
