I've read a lot of fantasy, especially series. I can honestly say I've never come across something like this. The overarching story lines and the in-between adventures offers a balance like no other. I love the multi-generational aspect, as well (we mostly get Inkwell's perspective in this book, but that's bound to diversify as the plot thickens...).
We are introduced to a vivacious group of characters (the diversity completing the whole!), places, and a trickle effect from a tragic massacre years ago that isn't what it seems on the surface. This is a whirlwind of a …
