This was beautifully told and I definitely cried a little (a lot). I didn't expect this book to be about Autism, but I'm glad that it is. I saw myself in Adora, and saw the girl I used to be, maybe even the girl I still am. I realize that I don't need to leave the worlds I've created and visited in my head behind. They don't need to die. This story made me realize I can still hold onto these worlds and escape back to them when I need to be free of the real world, even if just for a little while.

Beautiful and enchanting, and gave me a new outlook on life. I'll probably cry about this book later when it really hits me. It was behind excellent.

Wow wow wow! So excellent, vibrant, and heart wrenching! I fell in love with all of the characters, the story, and the art. Despite the themes, I was really touched by this story and couldn't stop reading it once I started! I will definitely be picking up a physical copy ASAP!!!

linking this here for the laughs, sure, but also because in a shorter term it explains how I feel about this book .
I won't try and take up TOO much time since I am very sleep deprived and fresh off the highs of reading this book... but it was stellar.
THIS is what I mean when I say I want to see bold, imaginative, and creative works. This is what I mean when I say I want to see representation of queer black women in literature.
This work pulses with life, love, and felt so TANGIBLE and REAL as I read. I literally played this out like a movie in my head. I could see it so clearly, felt the emotions... the rawness, the reality of the plot, the words, the characters. This resonated with me, as someone who has a difficult relationship with his mother; as a queer …

This work pulses with life, love, and felt so TANGIBLE and REAL as I read. I literally played this out like a movie in my head. I could see it so clearly, felt the emotions... the rawness, the reality of the plot, the words, the characters. This resonated with me, as someone who has a difficult relationship with his mother; as a queer black woman, an abused one. I really felt raw and seen when reading this, but felt no shame when I saw words, sentences, moments that called out to me.
This was so poetic without the pretention you see white authors claim they don't have. In my opinion, Yah Yah is allowed to be as pretentious as desired. It's earned. Beyond earned.
I may sound corny but this was poetic. I could tell this was a labor of love, this was crafted so well to where I felt like I was holding within my hands a raw slab of meat for a good, hearty meal for later. I felt feed, seen, cared for; yet had someone for the first time in my life, acknowledge my own aches and gripes, my flaws and truly show me a mirror of my own fleeting, impulsive thoughts.
This book was worth the wait, worth the read. If I could, I'd reread it again for the first time to experience it. Yah Yah deserves awards, book deals, movie and show deals. All good things that are so deserved solely based on this work alone. I would shell out anything I could to see a production of this.
Chances are I myself will make fanart, moodboards, etc. I already made a playlist for one of the characters, something I don't do for characters who are not my own.
I loved this book, and I so desperately want everyone to know it. Yah Yah already had my admiration, my respect; but I will truly be singing her praises to any and everyone wherever possible.

Really good and gave further, great insight on the inner workings of ShadowClan and how their values were different and confirming my thoughts on the Clan themselves and how they're willing to do some whack stuff in order to gain power/seem powerful.

Once again, an excellent look behind the thoughts and actions of a well known dissenter within the newer series. Definitely pulled at my heart strings and I came to better understand the character's intentions and thoughts and feelings years after having only seen the outside perspective as well as having been a child during that time.

It was overall pretty good, albeit a bit boring and slightly confusing to follow at times, but overall enjoyable as a coming of age story. Tough issues that we never really tackle or understand as a kid, y'know?

Deeply and emotional and thought provoking! I didn't expect those things when I went into reading this, but it touched my heart and reminded me of why I love Feathertail as a character so much. Great addition to the series and amazing to see the added context and expansion of character relationships and development.
