A very quick read and in my usual hurried way I had to stop myself to savour the amazing artwork. I'm glad I did, the spreads are really beautiful. But why I really grabbed this book was it's subject matter. Arnesen describes the anxiety and fear around climate change in such a tender, relatable way... Very happy I stumbled over this, another unplanned trip to the book store that paid off big time. :)

Ce livre m'a bien fait penser. En beaucoup de ses arguments, Ludovic Bu cible bien des croyances qui circulent entre ecolos, mais pour lesquelles il existent d'autres point de vue tout autant validés. C'est le cas par exemple des prix pour les transports en commun, et notamment des abonnements. De plus, il reste très claire sur l'impératif de réduire en gros les déplacements si l'on veut préserver un climat vivable. D'où sortent tout un tas de conclusions peu confortables mais qui sont difficiles à éviter, une fois qu'on y réfléchit.

En gros, je suis très content d'avoir trouvé ce petit bouquin par hasard d'as la librairie d'à côté, qui se lit très vite.

This started out a bit dry and dusty, but I really enjoyed it! Super interesting how the author traces out the incremental developments around train travel and especially how these were seen by travelers at the time.
