refreshingly different
4 stars
different approach to 'cosy' doesn't include tea and scones but (far better) cinnamon rolls and coffee. no feisty little grandmas solving murders, but wonderful creatures (with so much personality and character....you just have to love them) trolls, orcs, elves, monstercats, and a few shady characters of course.

intense
4 stars
berlin in the 1920s ....the nazis on the rise, a series of murders, a decent kriminal inspektor, lots of victims....lots of suspense!
historically well researched!
but the intensity of the book is, it shows you in a kind of every day routine way how fascism works. its frightening!
read it and prevent history repeating itself
