Wonderfully funny slice of life.

"Susan, Esther, and Daisy started at university three weeks ago and became fast friends. Now, away from home for the first time, all three want to reinvent themselves. But in the face of hand-wringing boys, "personal experimentation," influenza, mystery-mold, nu-chauvinism, and the willful, unwanted intrusion of "academia," they may be lucky just to make it to spring alive. Going off to university is always a time of change and growth, but for Esther, Susan, and Daisy, things are about to get a little weird."--provided from Amazon.com.
Wonderfully funny slice of life.
Time for a reread. Treiman's art is that little bit scrappier but suits the story. I think the exposition is a bit blunter than it ends up being, yet there are some details like Ed's crush on Esther that are given short shrift if you have read the prequels. A solid start with plenty of room to grow.
These graphic novels are such a refreshing departure from the dark fantasy/ sci-fi series I gravitate towards. I love how everything in this book feels so natural, from the friendships to more complex issues like navigating sexuality and dealing with crushes. All of the characters are so interesting and funny and human, and I'm so glad a series like this exists for teens!
