Having enjoyed the sadly cancelled TV series, this seemed like a good opportunity to dig into the source material. Its quite pulpy, but still bears the quality of Moore's prose. The art is a bit mixed, but there are some excellent spreads buried in there.
Brilliant. I had no idea. Can't wait to find the subsequent volumes where, I'm told, writer Alan Moore gets into his stride.
I don't know why it has taken me this long to dive into Alan Moore's work. His run on Swamp Thing is exceptional so far. Moore is able to make twisted genre stories somehow feel intimate and credulous. I will definitely be reading more.
It was a fine read - for a comic book. It was dark and foreboding and had some nice lines, but I guess I'm just not the comic book type.
