An entertaining twist of the realm of piracy; lady pirates who are powerful and feared, piratic women who look out for each other, magical pirates?? Ugh, it's met all of my standards.
Cecilia, our main character, is witty and thoughtful and navigates her relationship with Ned and her overprotective aunt in a way I think is familiar for many people with overbearing authority figures. She doesn't throw away aspects of herself or her dreams for love, and each of the Wisteria ladies were wonderful side characters that added a new twist of personality to the already one-of-a-kind cast.
3.5/5 rounded up because I really did enjoy this book. Not quite a five star for me, but lovers of the romance genre, magic, women who know what they want, and a dash of quirky events will likely enjoy it even more than I did.

I found this book witty and amusing, but a challenge to read for long at a stretch until I was more than halfway through.
I might have enjoyed the book more if I’d listened to it as an audiobook instead of reading it as text. It probably would have helped me push through the sections that I struggled with early on (keeping track of all the new rules of the world and the asides was overwhelming at times). I would LOVE to watch an adaptation of it along the lines of Enola Holmes or A Series of Unfortunate Events.
So much fun! Light and funny, in the vein of Gail Carriger's books.

This was such an incredibly funny read! Can't wait to read more from this author.

Almost at DNF for me. There was seemingly no reason for Cecilia to fall for Ned other than him being the first man who looked her way. And Ned's motivations seemed much less than pure. I found myself hoping Cecilia did not end up with him and instead found someone she had more chemistry with.

A zany romp with floating houses, piratical ladies, a madman, and romance. Recommended.
3,5 (Half star on GR when??), rounded up because, yes this is nothing extraordinary, but I liked this style of humor, plus fantasy in a regency romance is fresh, and im more understanding of a debut author^^
