So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish is the fourth book of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy "trilogy" written by Douglas Adams. Its title is the message left by the dolphins when they departed Planet Earth just before it was demolished to make way for a hyperspace bypass, as described in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. A song of the same name was featured in the 2005 film adaptation of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Review of 'So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish' on 'Storygraph'

Even during an nth re-read the biscuit scene made me laugh more than anything else I've read in a very long time.

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish is less fantastical, but tighter, than the previous couple of books. There's slightly less zany humour, but still buckets of it, and certainly far more romance. I enjoyed the book's focus on a single character rather than something on a galactic scale like the previous book.
