Oh, wow, this took me long. It’s probably not even because of the book itself, just my life currently isn’t perfect for reading...
But the book also wasn’t very exciting anyway... it was good and perhaps I will read the other books, but it wasn’t very “moving”, if you can say that.
One thing I really don’t like is, how sexist this is towards women.
For example:
- “it’s a well-known fact that women can’t read. It’s not their fault of course. Apparently their brain gets too hot.” (P. 107)
- “you shouldn’t take girls anywhere dangerous” (p. 119)
- “you tell her she mustn’t get in the way” (p. 120)
Women do the laundry, the cooking, etc, while men the hunting, and all the “strong” work. Seems very human-like. Expected more from a supposedly different species. (Well, okay, basically they’re humans but insect-size. Yet they do have different lifestyles …

At least Grimma doesn’t care much about how men think about women and lives like she wants to. That’s a bit refreshing compared to all the sexist males.
Granny, too. I like her quite violent approach, more or less. At least when it comes to slapping guys, who say dumb stuff.
