3-1/2 stars. I read the version from the internet archive, with comes with some spelling challenges (spaces between words are a missing at a rate of about one space per sentence).
The story is weird and the language a strange slang. But I enjoyed reading the book. Wow, what a story for the era in which it it is written.

The language is quite demanding, and that makes it interesting: much slang, and the book’s neologisms are seldom explained when introduced, the reader is left to figure out what they mean.
Very nicely pictured and colored, I felt it properly caught the late 80s idea of how the future will look. Sure, most of it didn't end up quite like WG imagined, but the visually impressionistic approach of The Grim Cyber-Future is nicely presented. It's a shame the book doesn't cover the complete novel.
awesome.... totally laid the foundation for sci-fi to come. Some of the book seemed a little dated but the story is still cutting edge and predicts the internet. This book packs so much into a pretty fast read... everything from dreaded rasta space colonists, biological modification, artificial intelligence, cyber-crime, psychedelic versions of Las Vegas in space... you name it.
