A nice book. I am a sucker for detective stories and I also enjoy historical fiction, this book (and the whole series) combine both. I enjoyed it, although the book was definitely not perfect. But I liked it well enough to try the next book with Matthew Shardlake.

Another amazing read. Having been immersed in an alternative Britain post WW2 and Spain in the Civil War and after I have now spent a good few hours in Cromwell's Tudor monastery dissolution period. Amazing the detail and the sense of place and convincing narrative.
