An interesting continuation, with echoes of the first book in places - a fun read.
With all the similar names of the books I messed up and started reading #9 before this one and only noticed when I was 25% done with the next book. This gave me so many spoilers that my personal experience with this part of the series was mostly boredom.
I am noticing that there are so many stories that go in between the full novels of the series. And I am too lazy to hunt them down. They are referenced and drive the meta-plot and character development of side characters and that's the whole reason it took me a quarter book to notice I was missing more than just a little piece of story ...
I am guessing that for fans who have been following the series from the beginning this might be a good thing. For someone coming in later - like I am - it is mostly annoying …
