According to my grandson this was a 7 (seven) book. It was much funnier than he had ever expected. Opa (me) rather enjoyed the reading, as well. The prose flows nicely and the humor is thoroughly enjoyable.
It was very different and interesting at the beginning but bored out towards the end, could have been shorter.
I remember loving these books as a kid so when I found the first one on sale I picked it up to reread. It's cute, but I really don't understand why I found it so good as a kid. Maybe just the novelty value of Pippi, living all on her own with a horse and pet monkey and doing whatever she wants?
