Premier livre de Pratchett que je lis.

L'histoire est sympa et drôle. Les personnages sont attachants.

Mais j'ai dû m'accrocher pour venir à bout de cette lecture qui m'a demandé beaucoup de concentration. Le style est particulier et à force d'absurdités, je me suis retrouvée souvent perdue, à devoir relire un paragraphe pour en comprendre le sens.

Donc c'est un avis mitigé.

Guards! Guards! Brief Review

This book came highly recommended as an entry point into Terry Pratchett's Discworld. I found the characters and story humorous, but it felt like a bit of a slog to get through. I eventually found the humour a bit repetitive, although the story was tied up somewhat nicely at the end.

I am curious if it is worth giving the DiscWorld City Watch series another shot. Are there any better entry points to the series as a whole?

I don't know, I remember being more of a fan of Pratchett's writing, for this one I just kept feeling disassosiated and not really into it, it was still being amusing enough that I kept on through it, but I don't know, I feel like I liked it less than I expected/should have.

La primera aparición de la guardia de la noche y de su capitán, Sam Vimes. Descacharrantw en su desconstrucción de los retos de la fantasía heroica. No le doy cinco estrellas porque el final me parece un poco desdibujado.
