Harter Tobak. Habe mir einen Einstieg zu Adorno erhofft, und das bietet das Buch. Die einordnenden Kommentare der diversen Autoren helfen, obwohl sie manchmal ein bisschen narzisstisch herüberkommen, und sich eher mit sich selbst als mit dem Text befassen. I struggled a little while reading this book, because of its structure. The authors introduce one big topic, and detail it in a lot of small chapters with small sub-categories and anecdotes which are often unrelated and do not really form a red line through the book.
On the other hand, these anecdotes made the topics more relateable. I was able to take a lot of new ideas, viewpoints and inspiration for our own parenting style from it, and it sparked a lot of great discussions with my partner on the topic. While it is written in a very US-centric style and touches a lot of topics which might be more relevant in the US, it is still relevant for people who live in other …

Der Lesefluss war durch die langen, verschachtelten Sätze und den Einsatz vieler Fachbegriffe nicht der einfachste.
Interessantes Buch, welches die Prägung des Begriffs „Leistung“ im Gebiet des heutigen Deutschlands in den letzten 200-300 Jahren historisch nachvollzieht und einordnet. Die Autorin versucht dabei vorsichtig einzuordnen und wenig zu moralisieren. Das generelle Bild das sich zeichnet ist, dass die Zuordnung einer individuellen Leistung unmöglich ist, da Menschen ihre Leistung oft erst durch andere Menschen ermöglicht wird. Interessant ist auch, dass Kritik an der „Leistungsgesellschaft“ oft benutzt wurde um sozialen Aufstieg zu verhindern. Generell ist „Leistung“ von einzelnen Menschen nur unscharf zu messen oder zu erfassen. Ich habe auf jeden Fall neue Sichtweisen auf das Thema bekommen.
Für mich eine spannende Zusammenfassung von Gedanken über Protestbewegungen im Allgemeinen und die Klimabewegung im speziellen. Gute und interessante Referenzen und Beispiele, an welchen der Autor darüber sinniert wie weit gewaltfreier Widerstand gehen kann, und wo seine Möglichkeiten aufhören. Das Buch gibt keine definitiven Antworten, stellt aber interessante Fragen, die mich sehr wahrscheinlich noch einige Zeit lang beschäftigen werden
Interessanter Ausflug zu verschiedenen Klimabewegungen und Gedanken dazu, was gewaltfreier Widerstand leisten kann und wo seine Möglichkeiten aufhören. Werde noch ein paar Tage darüber nachdenken
