I wasn't as invested in this book as the previous ones. It sure is fun and full of action, but I guess I wasn’t in the mood for so much action all at once. I can see that this book will bring serious repercussions for the plot in the future. Harry Dresden is again pushed to his limits, with overpowering supernatural entities. I was worried about a particular character's future health, something I'll have to discover in the next book.

Such a fun book to listen to. I always turn to the Dresden files when I need something not too serious.
So much happened in this book, and yet again a wide cast of characters play a part. I'm afraid for Michael, but I have hope. And, I didn't see that ending coming, but good on ya Harry. it's about time.
Harry, Harry, Harry. You will never change, and that's why I love you so much. More sass. More monsters. And more coins floating around Chicago, harassing Murph and Harry. Luckily they have the knights and wardens to help them fight evil.
Marcone is trouble, and Mab calls on Harry to bail him out. He reluctantly helps his frenemy, because he just can't resist the siren's call of trouble. He gathers his band of merry men and women, and they quest on to save the good people of Chicago. And Ivy. And Marcone. Harry makes some missteps and bad decisions, puts everyone in danger, and barely saves the day, as usual. And he gets his ass kicked as many times as you would expect. But what's that I smell around the corner? Could it be romance? Nah, I feel like Butcher is messing with us. Guess we will see in book …

You should try these books on audio. So good! Just like you would think Harry would sound. 3.5 stars.

There was some serious non-stop buttkickin' going on in this book. Cool.
In my comments on the first nine books I mentioned how the Dresden books follow a distinct formula, and how that formula becomes more apparent the more you read them. There is definitely a formula involved, but it is less obvious if you read the books with some interval of time between them. I read the first nine in a relatively short period of time, but read the tenth one about a year later, and as a result the formula was a lot less noticeable, and the read was a lot more enjoyable as a result.
Another excellent instalment in the Dresden series
I read this book on the exercise bike, and I kept working out too long because I'd lose track of time and keep pedaling!
You know, there's this thing Jim Butcher does in a lot of his books that I don't like. "I have a plan! fade to black" That kind of deliberate author withholding from reader usually annoys the crap out of me. But I forgive him, because his pacing is so good that I accidentally work out too long.
