Meh...
So much for progress.
Well, they did have another kiss but <spoiler> it took like 5 chapters until they calmed down from the embarrassment of their first kiss, and now there's another love rival. </spoiler>

The first chapter was really funny, though. Seeing their different reactions – Chidori ending up stress eating and making her grandma confused, and Nanoha being like, "I'm finally an adult now". XD

Then there were was just a bunch of awkwardness, and at some point it actually made me feel icky, because they acted as if they had a fight or something bad had happened. A kiss shouldn’t be negative (well, unless you’re physical-contact-repulsed, but that’s not the case with the two).

Then they finally talked about it, more or less.
... And then <spoiler> a new love rival comes in. And this time it's a serious rival, because it's a childhood friend and …

None

I've had plenty of jobs before. Many of them. But none have ever been as important as this one.

I have to admit the only reason I dug out this little book was because I needed a re-read to round off a couple of readathons and because I needed it to be something super short to make it on time. I have so many books on my TBR and so little time for re-reads! Regardless, I can't regret it because this was such a nice way to finish off a month of reading. I really like the overall vibe of this story and setting, and the way the MCs grow on each other, and how well the questioning identities are representing.

My one complaint is that there's still no continuation of the series, and the book is so short—too short, really! Even though at its heart it's a small-scale, low-stakes …

A half-size course covering the culture of the Ancient Greeks. Rather than a chronological course (like [b:The Long Shadow of the Ancient Greek World|12300414|The Long Shadow of the Ancient Greek World|Ian Worthington|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/book/50x75-a91bf249278a81aabab721ef782c4a74.png|17277500]), this series focuses each lecture on a cultural aspect, and jumped around the timeline sometimes up to present day to examine Greek influence on the modern world. Democracy, science, religion, war, art and literature, and their influence on Rome are some of the lecture topics. I'm very grateful to Garland for his lecture on the Iliad; he helped me to appreciate it much more than I did the first time I read it. That also applies to Greek tragedy, like Medea.

I enjoyed "Your Soul Was Made for Mine" by C.L. Hunter. This is the first book I've read by this author, having received a complementary copy to read in exchange for an honest review. I normally am not one for the erotic books, but do read them once in awhile, and found this to be a good one. I would read more books by the author for sure. I voluntarily reviewed it from Reading Deals

This is one of those Sci-fi stories that follows someone's life. These can go two ways, one where the character becomes an implausible superhero, fingers in every pie, with the perfect scheme, and another where the story meanders so much that you loose all will to live and wish the author would get to the point.

This book balances the two sides well. It's not an action story, but there is lots of action, it's not a slice of life story, but it follows Mariska's coming of age.

I felt connected to our protagonist, and she's very human, living and growing. It does get a tiny bit slow about half way through, but then it picks up again. My only complaint I suppose is that she maybe is a little too mature for a 20-something year old.

I think you should read this book. It's good.

I couldn't really muster up any sympathy for Shane/Jo and Noel was just kind of boring. The two MC's of this story were almost impossible for me to engage with, especially since I found two of the secondary characters much more sympathetic and interesting. I would rather have read their stories. From what I understand one of them will be getting their own book but I'm not sure whether he will have a voice in the narrative or not. Unfortunately the other character that I liked and wanted to read more about was rather abruptly killed off near the end of the book. I found Jason a more likeable character and honestly wouldn't have minded if Shane/Jo had to die to save Jason.

This series started and finished for me here. Disappointing since I enjoyed the Cost of Repairs series for the most part.
