BOOK ONE of the Six of Crows Duology

Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price–and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone…

A convict with a thirst for revenge. A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager. A runaway with a privileged past. A spy known as the Wraith. A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums. A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes.

Six dangerous outcasts. One impossible heist. Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first.

Supervivencia violenta

I have no words.
(SPOILERS AHEAD)

THE PLOT:
I never realized how much I liked chaos until now.

THE CHARACTERS

Wylan Van Eck, my wonderful gay explosives-loving son: I love him more than words can express. His character is nuanced, and everything about him is really well written. I love how he is simultaneously a cinnamon roll and salty.
"How about I push you in the canal and we see if you know how to swim?"
" He was Wylan Van Eck, and he told them everything."

Inej Ghafa: Poor, poor Inej. You deserved better. (Also, her mentions in Rule of Wolves? I'm so proud T-T)
"When the world owed you nothing, you demanded something of it anyway."

Jesper Fahey: Tied with Inej for second favorite character. I'm really happy there's so much bi representation here. Also, the character development is so good here breaks down into tears
"The same …

In the first book the crew pulled off the heist of the century, but now they need to get paid.

The author has really improved as a writer since she began Shadow and Bone, and it shows in this book. Wheels within wheels of schemes and plots, that all seem to make sense once they come to fruition. Character development that feels natural and earned. Excellent pacing of up and down beats.

One of the few flaws of her earlier works was that you quickly learned that if a character explained a plan, that you weren't going to see any of that plan come to fruition. Now if a character explains a plan, you know it won't go off 100%, but you don't know just how far it might go wrong. Far enough to fail, or just enough to require some improvisation to make it succeed, or were there elements …

Fantasy Heist Funtimes

It's my understanding this is a spin-off of another series set in the same world. I haven't read those books yet but I intend to. Anyway, rating is 5 stars because I felt like its sequel kept the promises of the first.

Let Kaz Brekker pick the lock of your heart.

None

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel ! It was a story like no other I’ve read before: it is about criminals, a dangerous mission, and mysterious powers; but also about love, teamwork, and trust. Throughout the novel. the protagonists are carefully builded, and we slowly learn more and more about their history, and their motifs.
It has a extremely open ending; it is an enormous cliffhanger, and I am very glad that I can continue immediately with its sequel, because if had had to wait for the second novel, it would’ve been excruciating!
I loved Nina and Matthias’ relationship, but also Jasper, and Wylan were very cute together, and I can’t wait to see how their relationship will develop further!
This novel is definitely worth reading, and I would recommend the collector’s editions as they are so beautiful !!!

Six of Crows is a fun and pretty fast-paced YA heist story. The heist is over-the-top and daring, with twists and clever plans and all the usual heist-story shenanigans. If you're looking for heists, a quick (despite the length) read, or some fun with talented deviants, it's worth a read.

I think this book was even more solid than [b:Six of Crows|23437156|Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1)|Leigh Bardugo|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1459349344s/23437156.jpg|42077459], though the two are actually just one great book. I loved the continued character development in this book, the way the relationships between the characters progressed, the way the plot wrapped up, even if it left a crack for further books in the series.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and its cast of diverse characters, its grimness and it's world. Really, really fun couple of books.

Fantastic and violent story of 6 likable, developed characters who risk it all to escape the depressing vagaries of their repressive, violent, late middle-ages societies. Strong world-building. Interesting and escapist fantasy, a more graphic Lies of Locke Lamora. Excellently plotted and paced. Because of all the murder and references to prostitution, I would keep this one for high school students. I would love to read books for adults by this author.

RESEÑA COMPLETA EN flightsofadreamer.blogspot.com.es/2017/09/resena-seis-de-cuervos-leigh-bardugo.html

Leigh

The first book [b: Six of Crows|23437156|Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1)|Leigh Bardugo|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1500689111s/23437156.jpg|42077459] was really good and I enjoyed reading the heist and loved following the characters (even though I had some minor gripes about the amount of romancing going on). And then came along this one. I disliked the cliff-hanger ending of the first book but ...

The sequel made it all worth it twice over. It does not happen all the time that I cannot put down a book and have to finish it right then, reading deep into the night.

The stakes in this book weren't necessarily higher but somehow more personal. In the first book they were on a job. In this book Kaz & crew fought for themselves. And how they did it! With style. And so much went wrong ... because even Kaz cannot see everything.

I even liked that not everyone got …
