Unfolds Murderbot’s “personality” through another engaging mission with pesky moral decisions. Watching it make another robot friend is endearing and amusing, while continuing Wells’s deft exploration of character.
I just want murderbot to be happy
These just keep getting better. Well thought out, biting in places, and just plain fun.
Later: Who's got a comfort series? I've got a comfort series.
What a fun series this is! These are pretty short books but there is a ton of action, humor and atmosphere packed into each one. I am always chuckling at the sarcastic and often profane asides by Murderbot, as it gets itself into all kinds of trouble.
It is trying to investigate GrayCris, a shadowy corporation that is up to no good and seems to be responsible for the near disaster in the first book. There are a few adventures on the way, but once on the space platform, the action really ramps up. It is especially funny how Murderbot deals with the other robots, who are often much simpler than it. But they still have their own surprises!
So the story ambled right along, and Murderbot gets in and out of jams constantly. So much atmosphere and world building with such an economy of words. Fantastic reading and I …

The 3rd novella is every bit as good as the first two. Fast-paced, great characters, funny as hell, and all the feels!
Very quick read, entertaining, and I can't wait for the next one.
This one did not let go. Murderbot is experiencing a lot more feelings and it's hurting my heart.
These are just great. Such an interesting technology set, none of which seems odd or out of place in this time. Everything just meshes so nice. Very funny & enjoyable. That shouldn't be the case when most of the story is life or death - mostly death.
I'm falling more and more in love with Murderbot ❤️
Yep, I still love Murderbot.
Hi! I'm Miki! Can we be friends?
In our current episode.. These are very episodic, nothing wrong with that--as acquaintance Bradley says, it's popcorn sci-fi. That's not saying it's bubblegum, it's not, but it is easy chewing science fiction fodder for a brain that might not want to keep Wikipedia next to them the whole time.
I liked this book for the continued world building. I liked running my thoughts along a terraforming platform. I liked pondering the friend-o-bot Miki. I still liked thinking through the corporate run universe (or area of the universe) where bonds and liabilities we're a big thing. As an aside I think [a:John Scalzi|4763|John Scalzi|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1407277112p2/4763.jpg]'s universe could exist pretty well here.
The story was one more chink in the research. Research we really don't know will come to fruition. It's interesting that the whole arc here is to go discover wrongdoing but at the end …

The story was one more chink in the research. Research we really don't know will come to fruition. It's interesting that the whole arc here is to go discover wrongdoing but at the end of it--while a battle, bots, and misdeeds are all around, I didn't feel that I had the smoking gun in our dataports if you get what I mean.
We'll have to read on! In the next episode of Tranquility Moon--er--Murderbot Diaries #4! hehe
Loved this. Got some good laughs. Better than the 2nd in the series. Read this in spurts at a book store over several sittings. If a book can withstand that kind of drawn-out, disconnected attention, that's always a good sign.
Still TOO SHORT! Clearly leading up to a finale in the next novella due out in October. In this third installation, Murderbot goes investigating what GrayCris corporation have been up to, finds more hapless humans in need of assistance, and makes "friends" with a rather unbelievably stupid lower-AI robot pet belonging to aforementioned hapless humans. A fun enough little exploit but did feel a little like "middle book syndrome" -- just filling in the gap between the start and the ending.
Another great (but too short) entry in the Murderbot Diaries! Murderbot is hilarious and a great adventure.
