Interesting stories included, about Rose being the vortex of dream and meeting her grandmother who had had the sleeping illness known from previous book, moving into a house of bizarrest characters, and on a quest to find her lost brother. Found it quite intriguing of a book, and side stories complemented nicely the main storyline.

I don't know how Gaiman writes these unique ideas with such vivid horror and also silliness.. Also love the representation :')
Rereading Sandman for the first time in 20 years, it is so far my favorite volume, probably because it's one narrative unit centering around Dream and his family.
Previous volumes had amazing stories too, but there was a lack of unity in some of them (not to mention a lack of the main character). Yet, a lot of these previous stories were necessary to establish a lot of the things that make this one story as well as the following ones the masterpieces that they are. As, if I remember well, each volume gets better than the previous one at this point.
Can't wait to read volume 8 again. Probably in a few days.

Recently re-read the entire series, prompted (of course) by the Netflix adaptation. How immense the scope of this is, and yet the core storyline is actually pretty tight. Would recommend to anyone (though you've probably read it already, right?)

YUP. this is the neil gaiman i know and love. cuz holy s*** some of the issues in this volume are INTENSE (Tale in the Sand?!?!) and others just feel so Classic Gaiman (Men of Good Fortune). I still believe that the show has done a EXCEPTIONAL job on expanding on the source material; and that is saying a lot as someone who is typically in the, "the book was better than the movie/show" camp. brb starting vol 3 right away to start reading past what was covered in season 1.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as most other Sandman books. The story seemed to meander a lot, and not really resolve all that well.
