"Martha Wells's Hugo, Nebula, Alex, and Locus Award-winning, New York Times and USA Today bestselling series, The Murderbot Diaries, comes to a thrilling conclusion in Exit Strategy. Murderbot wasn't programmed to care. So, its decision to help the only human who ever showed it respect must be a system glitch, right? Having traveled the width of the galaxy to unearth details of its own murderous transgressions, as well as those of the GrayCris Corporation, Murderbot is heading home to help Dr. Mensah--its former owner (protector? friend?)--submit evidence that could prevent GrayCris from destroying more colonists in its never-ending quest for profit. But who's going to believe a SecUnit gone rogue? And what will become of it when it's caught?"--provided by publisher.
Classic MurderBot
I love Murderbot.
This last edition of the novella series was a nice and exciting end to his story arch.
It was an exciting glance in what could go on in the mind of a part biological conscious AI with high processing capacity. How it could interface with systems and outmanoeuvre humans (augmented or not). Scary and exciting when you really think about it.
The series is a must read if you liked the Bobiverse series.
I hope we can have many more Murderbot books. I like them better than Jack Reacher books.
The final repetitive book in the murderbot series of novellas. See any of my previous reviews - they're all just as applicable to this one. It's the same story told four times in a row now? I guess there's another murderbot book being written. Don't plan on reading it.
I really enjoyed the series.
An underdog who wins despite incredible odds. A sentient robot who defends humans without doing it for a promised after life.
Audiobook.
Very satisfying.
A fitting end to the adventures of our smart-mouthed anti-hero killing robot. I loved the series but am glad the author ended the series gracefully.
Love Murderbot, but once again sad the novellas are so short. This fourth novella brings the series to a close (but with rumours of a full length novel coming probably around 2020 - yay). It wraps up the loose ends reasonably well; Murderbot saves the day (and Dr. Mensah) again; and lots of snarky Murderbot commentary along the way. First novella is still the best however, if only for the refreshing newness of the characters.
The conclusion to the amazingly hilarious and adventurous Murderbot Diaries is far too short! I could read the interior monolog of this deeply conflicted quasi-human all day long. If you think your hard science fiction stories of the quest for identity and the coming corporate dystopia need a bit of snark, this is definitely the story for you.
Satisfying end to the novella sequence. I can't wait for the full novel to come out.
