Really liked it. It's like the Hitchhiker series, but with fantasy elements instead of Sci-Fi.

Terry Pratchett's profoundly irreverent novels are consistent number one bestsellers in England, where they have garnered him a revered position in the halls of parody next to Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adams, and Carl Hiaasen. The Color of Magic is Terry Pratchett's maiden voyage through the now-legendary land of Discworld. This is where it all begins--with the tourist Twoflower and his wizard guide, Rincewind.

The best fantasy book I've ever read. Funny, fast, and very well written.
If [b:the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy|11|The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy, Book 1)|Douglas Adams|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1156039839s/11.jpg|3078186] took place in a fantasy universe, it might be something like the Discworld series. This book introduces us to Rincewind the Wizard, a bumbling, inept wizard who stumbles his way through being a forced tourguide for Twoflower, a naive, trusting visitor from a foreign land.
The main plot takes a back seat to the comedy, and it is quite funny. Still it becomes a bit too random for my tastes through the middle. Some of the humour comes from the silly nature of the plot, but I often found myself confused and/or rolling my eyes.
The Color of Magic was the second Discworld book I ever read, and I love it just as much as the first time I read it. While the series has certainly evolved since then, it has a special flavor that makes it classic and hilarious.
